Vodafone General Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. These terms and conditions apply to all competitions run by Vodafone unless otherwise stated.
  2. In order to enter any competition, customers must correctly undertake the task set or answer the question correctly as the case may be. Competitions are only open to those people identified as being permitted to enter or requested to enter as the case may be. Competitions are not open to Vodafone employees, agents, contractors or sub-contractors - or their families.
  3. Customers entering any competition will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.
  4. Entries must be strictly in accordance with these terms and conditions and any other conditions in the messaging or promotions around such competition or they will be invalid. One entry is permitted per person. Entries from agents/third parties are invalid.
  5. Vodafone accepts no responsibility or liability for entries or information relating to entries that are lost.
  6. An independent judge will pick the winning entry or entries at random from valid entries received. The decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  7. Any prize is as stated in any messaging or promotions advertising such competition. No cash or other alternative will be offered and prizes are non-transferable.
  8. Vodafone reserves the right at its sole discretion to alter any prize or substitute the prize with cash to the same value for any reason and without notification. In the event that the winner declines the prize awarded to him/her or Vodafone is unable to contact the winner after reasonable efforts have been made, Vodafone may award the prize to another entrant, selected at random.
  9. By accepting the prize, the winner grants Vodafone the right to use and publish his/her name and picture in such media as Vodafone may choose (including but not limited to the internet) for advertising and promotional purposes without additional consideration.
  10. Vodafone is excluded from liability for any loss, damage or injury which might occur to the winner or any other person with whom the winner shares or gives the prize.
  11. All entrants to Vodafone pay as you go and Cherry Points competitions will be automatically signed up to Vodafone Cherry Points. By entering any competition you agree that Vodafone may contact you with updates on Vodafone products and/or services via email, SMS, telephone or any other manner. Should you wish to be removed from the contact list, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Vodafone reserves the right to suspend or terminate the competition or amend these terms and conditions at any time for any valid, technical or commercial reason.

 

Vodafone Current Offers

Student Leap Card Discount

The following terms and conditions shall apply to the Vodafone Student Leap Card 10% Discount (the “Offer”) and are available on www.vodafone.ie.

  1. The Offer is limited to the purchase of [mobile phone] accessories from Vodafone retail stores only and cannot be used in conjunction with additional discounts/promotions.
  2. The Offer is subject to availability and is only available to students who present a valid, in date Student Leap Card in their name at the time of purchase and are Vodafone customers.
  3. The Offer is available from 2 September 2014 until 31 December 2016. Vodafone reserves the right to withdraw the Offer at any time during or after this Offer period.
  4. Once you sign up to this Offer, you are giving your consent to Vodafone to contact you regarding changes/enhancements to the Offer and updates while you remain signed up to this Offer

Irish Times Promotion

The terms and conditions under this heading relate to the 12 months half price Irish Times Standard Digital Subscription Vodafone promotion (the 'Promotion').

  1. The Promotion is only available to eligible and existing Vodafone Ireland customers who have received the Promotion text message, email or direct mail (the ‘Promotion Message’) containing a personalised voucher number (the ‘Voucher’). Eligibility is determined by Vodafone in accordance with these terms and conditions.
  2. The Promotion entitles you to 12 month subscription to Irish Times Standard Digital Subscription at half price which is €6 per month. The subscription will be billed at €12 per month from month 13 onwards.
  3. All instructions and descriptions included in the Promotion Message form part of these terms and conditions.
  4. The Voucher must be redeemed on the Irish Times website URL specified in the Promotion Message.
  5. Irish Time’s terms and conditions will apply to any purchase of an Irish Times subscription made in conjunction with the Voucher. Irish Times is independent of Vodafone. The terms and conditions under this heading relate to a free online course for a diploma in digital marketing from the Shaw Academy (the ‘Promotion’).

  1. The Promotion is only available to eligible and existing Vodafone Ireland customers who have received the Promotion text message or email (the ‘Promotion Message’) containing a personalised voucher number (the ‘Voucher’). Eligibility is determined by Vodafone in accordance with these terms and conditions.
  2. The Promotion entitles you to a free online training course in Digital Marketing delivered by the Shaw Academy.
  3. All instructions and descriptions included in the Promotion Message form part of these terms and conditions.
  4. The Voucher must be redeemed on the Shaw Academy website URL specified in the Promotion Message.
  5. Shaw Academy terms and conditions will apply to any course registration made in conjunction with the Voucher. Shaw Academy is independent of Vodafone. Vodafone is not responsible for, nor accepts any liability whatsoever in relation to any representation regarding the courses provided by Shaw Academy (including the value of such courses) or the provision of any service by Shaw Academy.   1. The Promotion is only available to eligible and existing Vodafone Ireland customers who have received the Promotion text message with a link to the e-card (the ‘Promotion Message’). Eligibility is determined by Vodafone in accordance with these terms and conditions.
  2. The Promotion entitles you to a free CleverCard printed card and 25% off a multipack purchase of minimum 5 cards.
  3. All instructions and descriptions included in the Promotion Message form part of these terms and conditions.
  4. The free card and multipack discount can only be redeemed on the CleverCards website or app.
  5. The Promotion does not include postage costs.
  6. The Promotion is only redeemable before the expiry date of 31st May 2016.

Member Get Member Student Offer Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions of the Student Offer are in addition to and form part of the terms and conditions of the Vodafone Pay As You Go Mobile Telecommunications Service and the Vodafone Mobile Internet Terms and Conditions which are available on www.vodafone.ie. These terms and conditions will be effective from 11th February 2016.

In the event of any conflict between the terms, the order of precedence shall be as follows; the terms and conditions set out below first, followed by the terms of the Vodafone Pay As You Go Mobile Telecommunications Service and lastly the Vodafone Mobile Internet Terms and Conditions.

  1. When you sign up to the Offer you will be automatically signing up to our Vodafone Student offer.
  2. Eligibility for this Offer: This offer is only available to students from Meteor, Three, Tesco, 48 who sign up in:
    • a. Vodafone store in Tallaght from 10am on Feb 11th 2016 to 4pm on Feb 12th 2016.
    • b. Vodafone store in Waterford from 10am on Feb 15th 2016 to 5pm on Feb 16th 2016.

    For the avoidance of doubt, this offer is only available in store and is not available from Vodafone online or by telephone. You must provide valid student identification on the day i.e. a valid and in-date student identification card. Eligibility is determined by Vodafone in accordance with these terms and conditions.

  3. Ports in cannot be deferred and all ports will be processed on the day.
  4. Opting in to any other offer after signing up to the Student Offer will cancel this Offer and you will no longer be able to opt back in.
  5. The Offer is available for a maximum term of 4 years only. Without prejudice to its general right to withdraw a tariff at any time, Vodafone reserves the right to remove the Offer at any time after 4 years from the day of commencement or if you are no longer a student e.g. you must hold a valid student ID for the 4 year term.
  6. The standard terms and conditions of the free texts to any network offer still apply.
  7. 7. This offer will only come into effect when you receive a text alert to let you know the offer has been applied and then top up by €20 in a single transaction. Only then will you will receive free texts to any network in the ROI and 15GB mobile internet browsing in the ROI for a 30 day period and will keep the €20 credit.

  9. The Offer is subject to Vodafone’s Fair Usage Policy. If your use is deemed excessive or unreasonable Vodafone may take the actions detailed in this paragraph. Vodafone has developed a threshold for the Service and the related Offers by reference to average customer profiles and estimated customer usage of the Service (particularly the estimated volume and length of free calls likely to be made by users or number of texts send) (“Threshold”). The Threshold is regularly reviewed against average customer usage and is currently set at 5,000 text messages and the free data allowance for this offer is 15GB with a €20 top up. Any usage over these amounts will be charged at standard rates on your PAYG plan.
  10. Opt in to the offer means you will also be automatically opting in to allow Vodafone use your personal information to send marketing communications relating to various products and/or services. This marketing preference can be updated at any time by contacting Vodafone on 1800 200 234.
  11. A free 3 month Spotify voucher will be sent via BSMS before the 29th of February 2016 to all existing customers who:
    • a. signed up to the Student offer in IT Tallaght on the 8th February 2016 only.
    • b. got the Offer via BSMS on February 11th February 2016.
    • c. got at least one new customer to join Vodafone in store in Tallaght IT between 10am on the 11th February 2016 and 4pm on the 12th February 2015.
  12. The Spotify voucher as set out above is only redeemable on a one-voucher-per-individual-customer basis. This is irrespective of the number of new customers which the existing customer got to sign up to Vodafone on foot their receiving the Offer via BSMS on February 11th 2016.

  3. Only one €50 discount per customer applies.
  4. The offer is as stated and there is no cash alternative.
  5. Offer is valid Monday to Friday only.

Top Up Give Away promotion for Vodafone Pay As You Go Customers from the 8th-14th February 2016 Terms & Conditions

The following terms and conditions relate to the Top Up Give Away (the “Promotion”) taking place from the 8th to the 14th of February 2016 (the “Promotion Period”) and apply in addition to and form part of the General terms and conditions of the Vodafone Pay As You Go (“PAYG”) Mobile Telecommunications Service for our mobile customers which are available on www.vodafone.ie/terms. For the avoidance of doubt the below terms will form part of and apply in addition to each participating customer’s terms and conditions of their Vodafone service. In the event of any conflict between the terms, the order of precedence shall be as follows; the terms and conditions set out below first, followed by the terms of Pay As You Go Mobile Telecommunications Service.

  1. To qualify for the Promotion, the PAYG mobile customers must opt in to the Promotion by texting “Happy” to 50244 between 00.01 on Monday 8th February 2016 and 23.59 on Sunday 14 February 2016. Any attempt to send an ‘opt in’ message outside of this period will not qualify for the Promotion.
  2. After the PAYG customer has opted in, the PAYG customer will receive a text message which will inform the PAYG customer of their individual bonus as well as the minimum value of top up that is required to activate their bonus (the “Qualifying Top Up”).
  3. The individual bonus that each customer will be offered by Vodafone as part of this Promotion is unique to each customer and is determined by Vodafone at our sole discretion.

The following terms and conditions of the Student Offer (the ‘Offer’) are in addition to and form part of the terms and conditions of the Vodafone Pay As You Go Mobile Telecommunications Service and the Vodafone Mobile Internet Terms and Conditions which are available on www.vodafone.ie. These terms and conditions will be effective from 1st February 2016 and will replace the existing terms and conditions applicable to the Offer.

  1. In the event of any conflict between the terms, the order of precedence shall be as follows; the terms and conditions set out below first, followed by the terms of the Vodafone Pay As You Go Mobile Telecommunications Service and lastly the Vodafone Mobile Internet Terms and Conditions.
  2. Eligibility for this Offer: The offer is only available to students from Meteor, Three, Tesco, 48 and existing Vodafone PAYG via special promotions. The Offer is exclusive and not available through usual Retail, Telesales or Online sales channels out of promotion periods. Eligibility is determined by Vodafone in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
  3. A valid student identification must be provided to sign up to the Offer.
  4. When you sign up to the Offer you will be automatically signing up to our Vodafone Student offer.
  5. Once you are signed up to the Offer, it requires a top up by €20 in a single transaction every month. Only then will you will receive free texts to any network in the ROI and 15GB mobile internet browsing in the ROI for a 30 day period and will keep the €20 credit.
  6. You will be able to purchase unlimited calls to any network in the ROI bundle for a 30 day period with the €20 credit.
  7. Opting in to any other offer after signing up to the Student Offer will cancel this Offer and you will no longer be able to opt back in.
  8. The Offer is available for a maximum term of 4 years only. Without prejudice to its general right to withdraw a tariff at any time, Vodafone reserves the right to remove the Offer at any time after 4 years from the day of commencement or if you are no longer a student e.g. you must hold a valid student ID for the 4 year term.

    • MMS (multimedia text) or any other type of messaging medium apart from standard SMS;
    • Premium SMS (text) to short codes;
    • Voice calls and video calls (including calls to Directory enquiry, premium rate numbers, WAP, ISP or mISP numbers).
    • Excludes all Blackberry services including email, browser, BlackBerry Messenger and Facebook.
  12. The Offer is subject to Vodafone’s Fair Usage Policy. If your use is deemed excessive or unreasonable Vodafone may take the actions detailed in this paragraph.     • In the event that a customer uses their data continuously and does not start a new data session, their core bundle will be consumed first and then the promotional data bundle will be consumed following this.
  4. A data session is defined as when a customer uses mobile data on their handset. A data session is ended when a customer either:
    • (a) Switches off their handset; or
    • (b) Switches from Mobile Data to WiFi; or
    • (c) Switches off Mobile Data
  5. Customers will continue to receive notification when they have consumed 80% and 100% of their core data, they will not receive notification when they have consumed 80% and 100% of the free data bundle.
  6. Whether a customer receives 1GB or 2GB of free data is dependent on a customer’s previous monthly data consumption history. Where a customer uses less than 1GB of data in a month (where 1GB is their core allowance) they will receive 1GB of extra data, where a customer uses in excess of 1GB of data in a month they will receive 2GB of data.
  7. A customer must have a suitable 3G or 4G handset to benefit from the offer.
  8. The Free Data Bundle will only apply when used on the APNs below. Internet accessed via the mobile using any APN other than those listed at (a) to (h) below will result in additional charges in accordance to the costs for that APN.

  15. Vodafone reserves the right to suspend or terminate the competition or amend these terms and conditions at any time for any valid, technical or commercial reason.
  16. The promotional dates are between the 29th of May and 14th of June inclusive, but customers who purchase a device on the 14th have until close of business on Monday 15th of June.

Vodafone Mobile Phone Trade-In

The following are the terms and conditions applicable to the Vodafone mobile phone trade-in scheme up to 31 March 2014 and shall be deemed to have been accepted when you trade in your mobile phone handset at any participating Vodafone retail store. These terms and conditions are in addition to the General Terms and Conditions and form part of the general customer terms and conditions of the Vodafone that relate to the use of Vodafone mobile telecommunications services.

With effect from 1 April 2014, the Mobile Phone Trade-In service will be replaced with the Vodafone Buyback service and is available in Vodafone retail stores. Find out more about the Vodafone Buyback service here.

Trade-In Offer

The trade-in offer is available to any prepay or pay monthly customer who is porting in to Vodafone, first time connecting or upgrading tariff on the Vodafone network. The trade in handset must be presented to Vodafone retail store sales staff prior to completion of the purchase of the new handset to be eligible. You cannot trade in your handset post sale.

Any handsets meeting the requirements set out in these Terms and Conditions will entitle the owner to a discount off the purchase of a new pay monthly, pre-pay, upgrade or SIM free handset from Vodafone. Only one trade-in is accepted per connection and the trade-in offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.

Trade-in values are subject to change from month to month and Vodafone reserve the right to alter trade-in values on various handsets. Trade-in values and RRP’s on handsets may vary from channel to channel. The trade-in offer applies to a limited list of handsets, full list available in store and online. Vodafone will have the final decision on all device values.

No cash, credit or voucher alternative will be available to the customer if trade-in value is in excess of the RRP of the handset, and in such circumstances the customer’s options are as follows:

  1. Customer can purchase a higher priced handset in order to avail of the discount;
  2. Customer can donate the trade-in handset to the recycling programme which is in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation.

Once you have traded in your handset, it will not be returned to you under any circumstances.

Your handset

Each handset traded-in by you should match the make and model stated when registering your order and meets the following conditions:

  1. The handset must turn on and off.
  2. The handset must be fully functional and complete.
  3. The screen must be in full working order and intact and be free of any cracks, chips or dents on the on the display or back cover
  4. The battery must be included and fully charged.
  5. The handset must not be crushed or moisture-damaged.
  6. The handset must be able to search for WIFI networks
  7. The home key, volume, camera, and keypad buttons must all work
  8. The touchscreen must be in full working order
  9. The handset must be original and meet the manufacturer’s original specifications.
  10. The handset must have been purchased in Ireland and have Irish specifications.
  11. The handset must not be stolen or listed with us or a third party as stolen. The handset must not be a handset that you have purchased from Vodafone within the 30 days prior to trade in.
  12. The handset must be unlocked from any security locks. For iPhone owners, have the 'Find my iPhone' functionality must be deactivated
  13. Your handset must be cleared of all personal content. We recommend you back your information up before you trade in your device. For your security we wipe any remaining data from the device and destroy sim/memory cards.
  14. If your device suffers from any damage it may affect the final value. Our prices are continually checked against other market leaders so you can be sure of getting a competitive price.

PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST BE EITHER THE OWNER OF THE HANDSET OR HAVE OBTAINED PERMISSION FROM THE RIGHTFUL OWNER TO TRADE IN THE HANDSET.

You are responsible for cancelling any handset or airtime contract linked to each handset. We are not responsible for any call or other costs arising before, or after, receipt of your handset(s), or arising from any other circumstances whatsoever.

Please remove SIM and Memory cards before providing us your mobile. Any SIM or memory cards received by us will be destroyed, and so obviously cannot be returned. We accept no liability in the event that any phone that has been sent with its SIM or Memory card in any respect including for any charges subsequently incurred.

Customers must back up and remove their content (e.g. phone call records, images, emails, text messages etc) before trading in a handset. This includes but is not limited to all personal details, SMS, photos, videos, games, songs or other data. Vodafone will not accept responsibility for the security, protection, confidentiality or use of such data. By sending your device to us you agree to release us from all and any losses, claims or damages with respect to the data enclosed or stored therein or on any media used in conjunction with the device. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing Vodafone intends to fully clear down the contents of any devices before their re-use or sale. You will not have the opportunity to transfer any data at the point of trade in and Vodafone will not be liable for any damage, loss or erasure of any such data.

Pins / Passwords

If you have a PIN or Password on any of your items you should remove this before submitting.

Right to Withdraw the Trade-In Offer / Right to Reclaim any Discount

Vodafone reserves the right to withdraw, modify or alter these terms or the trade-in offer at any time without notice.

Vodafone reserves the right to reclaim from you any discount issued with respect to this offer (via your debit/credit card or withhold it from any refund amount or otherwise) if any of the following occurs:

  1. information provided by you is incorrect;
  2. it is subsequently found that the handset you gave us was stolen; or
  3. if your new handset is returned or your new service contract is cancelled for any reason either during any returns period or during any minimum contract term (if applicable), the value of the trade in handset will be deducted from any refund due.

Limitation on Liability and Events Outside Of Our Control

Please remember that by sending your handset(s) to us, you agree to release us and our agents and employees from all and any claims, losses or damages with respect to the handset(s), any SIM card, any data stored or contained therein or on any media used in conjunction with the handset (whether in the form of personal details, SMS, photos, games, songs or other data). We accept no responsibility in relation to the security, protection, confidentiality or use of such data and it is your responsibility to ensure that such data is removed from the handset(s) prior to you sending it to us.

We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under a contract that is caused by events outside our reasonable control or due to our compliance with any applicable laws or regulations.

Top up offer

From the 21st October until the 17th November any Pay as you go customer who tops up in store by €30 in one go will get €10 extra free credit.

Spotify Premium Promotion-first three months free

  1. If you are a Vodafone Bill Pay customer who has signed up to a 24 month contract for the RED with Spotify Premium price plan for Bill Pay Customers (“Spotify Premium”) during 17th November 2013 to 31 January 2014, you are entitled to the first three months subscription free (the“Spotify Premium Promotion”).
  2. The Spotify Premium Promotion commences the date you sign up to the RED with Spotify Premium price plan, and not from the date you register online to activate your Spotify account.
