What is mobile broadband?

Mobile broadband uses the same technology as your mobile phone, except instead of making a voice call over the phone, your modem makes a data call across the Vodafone network which connects you to the internet. Mobile broadband gives you all the benefits of regular broadband, with the added bonus of wireless mobility.

Depending on the device you will be using to go online – laptop, iPad, PDA, games console – you will need to choose either a mobile broadband modem or a MicroSim in order to connect to Vodafone’s data network.

If you’re going to be the only user, our USB stick modems are ideal – perfect for desktops or laptops and easy to carry.

If you want to share your mobile broadband connection with more than one device, the Mobile Wi-Fi or Sharing Dock will allow you to create your own Wi-Fi zone instantly using mobile broadband.
