1. How do I register and get registration call credit?

When you register a new pay as you go phone or SIM card online, we'll give you registration call credit to say thanks for choosing Vodafone.

Existing customers

If you were already a Vodafone customer before you bought your new phone, then you just need to update your new phone details on My Vodafone.

New customers

2. Can I upgrade my phone?

If you're a bill pay customer, you can check your eligibility for an upgrade in My Vodafone. Better still, register your email address with us and we'll let you know directly! (You can register on the Check Eligibility page.)

3. How can I top up?

We offer a huge range of ways to top up, from topping up online, to topping up with your mobile using Vodafone live! Mobile Internet. Most of our phones will work  just about anywhere. But if you're jetting off to the USA, Canada or Latin America you'll need a triband phone. For a few countries in the Caribbean, you'll need a quadband phone. For more information on phones, check out our tips for roaming page.

If you're a pay as you go customer, you need never be out of credit while roaming with Vodafone. There are several ways you can top up when abroad, including buying vouchers in local shops. Learn more about topping up.

5. How do I view my billing and account details?

Bill pay customers

Keep track of your mobile usage by viewing or printing your most recent Vodafone bills on My Vodafone. Your usage report displays analysis of your billing information, including your most frequently dialled numbers, your most expensive calls and a breakdown of your daily/hourly usage.

If you have any trouble understanding your bill, there is further information to help you with the detail included in your monthly bill.

Pay as you go customers

In My Vodafone, you can see your remaining call credit and view your top up history.

6. How do I unlock my phone (PUK number)?

If you enter your PIN code incorrectly 3 times, your phone will be blocked and you will need your PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) to unlock it.

Get your PUK code

The quickest way is toget your PUK code in My Vodafone.

You can also get your PUK by calling Customer Care (from any landline or mobile).

Follow these steps if you're bill pay:

  1. Dial 1907
  2. From the main menu, press '2' for service & settings and enter your Self Service password
  3. From this menu, press '1' for the PUK options
  4. Press '1' to hear your PUK, or '2' to hear instructions on how to unblock your phone.

Follow these steps if pay as you go:

  1. Dial 1747 (from a mobile)  or 1850 20 40 20  (from a landline)
  2. From the main menu, press '2' for Services and Settings
  3. From this menu, press '1' for the PUK menu
  4. To get your PUK, press '1'
  5. For your unblocking information press '2'
  6. If you have a Nokia phone choose option 1 to get the unblocking instructions
  7. If you have another handset choose option 2 and you will be put through to a customer service representative

7. I lost my phone/My phone was stolen. What do I do?

1. Contact us immediately so that we can prevent anyone from making or receiving calls on your phone. This will help to prevent any charges on your account.

If you have insurance with us, we'll make sure a claim form is sent to you straight away and advise you what to do next.

2. Report the theft to the police
You’ll need to get the claim form stamped by the Gardai if you're going to make an insurance claim.

8. Who are these premium texts from?

If you are receiving premium texts and you're not sure where they came from, you can do a short code search on Regtel's website. Regtel is the Irish independent regulator of premium rate phone services.

Their website also explains how to unsubscribe from a premium service.

9. What's the best tariff for me?

10. How do I get free webtext?

With webtext you can send 600 free text messages online each month to any Irish or international mobile number. You can even send texts to up to five different mobiles at once, with the option of scheduling your message to send anytime over the next seven days.
