How much does it cost to use?

All BlackBerry bundles come with a generous 1GB allowance of data in your monthly tariff. BlackBerry data is compressed by 70% and this will be an ample amount of data to cover email, internet usage and applications on your BlackBerry device.

All downloaded applications (Facebook and Twitter for BlackBerry) use the BlackBerry APN and the usage is included in this monthly tariff.

What if I go out of town? How much does it cost to roam?

Yes, you can roam with your BlackBerry anywhere Vodafone has a data roaming agreement. You can choose to pay per MB or purchase a monthly BlackBerry roaming bundle. And because BlackBerry data is compressed by 70%, it’s a more economical method of data roaming.

To switch off data roaming,

  • Choose options from the applications list
  • Select networks and connections
  • Select mobile network
  • Select the ON option from the data service menu
  • Change to OFF when roaming

Setting up Vodafone Mobile Exchange

You'll need the following operating systems, applications and devices to get started:

  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 SP2 or later
  • Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 devices or above
  • Any other ActiveSync® Active device

Your IT manager needs to configure both the exchange server to enable ActiveSync® (which synchronises contacts, calendars, tasks and email between servers and devices) and then configure all the devices that will be using it.

To help get you started with configuration see our interactive device guides.

Devices using Vodafone Mobile Exchange

Vodafone Mobile Exchange only works on Windows, Android, iPhone and Nokia phones.

Using your device with Vodafone Mobile Exchange

Security codes: You many have a security or lock code when using mail for exchange on your phone.

  • For Nokia handsets, the default code is '12345'. You may then be asked to enter a new 6 digit code of your choosing
  • For Windows and iPhone, you set your own security phone when you set it up

Viewing folders in email

On handsets with smaller screens, like E52, the folder names in the mailbox are shortened. To display the full name of the folder, highlight it, choose 'Options' on the left hand side of the screen, then choose the 'Subscribe To Folder'.

Switching devices

When switching from one device to another, please wait at least 10 minutes before activating ActiveSync® on the new device. This is to allow the old device to finish out its polling interval.

Problems with email on your phone

If you're having problems using Vodafone Mobile Exchange on your device, it could be for the following reasons:
